Shown here is the Standard Wheelchair, version 8. This skeleton design of a standard wheelchair is created for everyday use and adaptable to fit the individuals needs. The base and back rest can be easily angled as required to alter areas of pressure. Additionally, it can be dismantled into three separate pieces to aid transporting or travelling. This wheelchair is designed and manufactured using as many local materials as possible, meaning the manual user can fix the wheelchair in case of breaking. For example, the standard bike tyres are readily available throughout East Africa, enabling easy repair at any bike shop should they become punctured or damaged with use.
